Walden Seniors Membership
What is the cost of Membership?
Our current membership for seniors is $25.00 per person, giving you access to all that the Centre offers from September through June. As a member, you can participate in various senior community activities and enjoy exclusive access to social events, as well as join any of the groups within the Centre. Additionally, there are volunteering opportunities for seniors to engage in meaningful work and connect with others.
Are there requirements to join?
No experience necessary! Whether you are a beginner or a pool shark, a pro baker or someone who has never cracked an egg, you're welcome to join any group you are interested in as part of our membership for seniors. We have members with all skill levels, and those with more experience are eager to assist. Our senior community activities are designed to help members build connections, improve physical wellness, sharpen memory skills, and belong to a vibrant community of like-minded people. Additionally, we offer volunteering opportunities for seniors to further enhance their engagement and sense of purpose.
Community Minded?
Walden Seniors Centre fosters a sense of community not only within our club but also in Walden and the surrounding area. Our Ladies Auxiliary plays a vital role in enhancing the senior community activities by raising funds, collecting donations, and organizing food drives for various organizations. From supporting the Salvation Army to Maison McCullough Hospice, the ladies continuously discover creative ways to give back.
Additionally, other members engage in volunteering opportunities for seniors by dedicating their time to a youth program held in our facility. Twice a week, they provide companionship and serve a hot meal to the participants of the after-school program.
Our seniors also contribute their time and talents to local initiatives such as the winter carnival, Rock the Farm, the food bank, and our hospital foundation.
We believe that supporting a shared cause strengthens our team and enriches the wider community. Through these connections, we build close relationships and foster a deeper sense of belonging.
